RED FLAG ALERT-No Parking Restrictions in Effect
The Los Angeles Fire Department has received notification from the
National Weather Service that predicted “RED FLAG” weather conditions exist and a RED FLAG/NO PARKING warning has been issued.
Effective on “Wednesday, November 29, 2006” at “10 AM” the Red Flag Warning goes into effect and vehicles will be towed when parked in restricted canyon areas. Gusty winds and low humidity can be expected to continue for the mountains, passes, and canyons of Los Angeles City throughout Wednesday.
AS OF 10 AM ON NOVEMBER 29, 2006, AND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, NO PARKING RESTRICTIONS WILL BE ENFORCED IN SELECTED HIGH HAZARD AREAS. FOR MAPS OF AFFECTED AREAS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, GO TO THE LAFD "REDFLAG" WEBSITE.
Report any sign of smoke immediately to your local fire department by dialing 911 (If you dial 911 from your cellular phone, you MUST know your location)
Do not park on streets exhibiting “RED FLAG NO PARKING” signs.
Use extreme caution when operating spark or flame producing machinery in hazardous grass or brush areas.
Have an evacuation plan in place and identify two exit routes from your neighborhood. If you are asked to evacuate by fire or police officials, do so immediately.
Report any suspicious persons or vehicles to law enforcement.
